VDM Cargo Solutions and Tepmare SAS Deliver Vital Equipment for SA Harvest

VDM Cargo Solutions and Tepmare SAS Deliver Vital Equipment for SA Harvest

With the South African harvest season kicking off in the final week of January, timing is the most critical factor in agricultural logistics. VDM Cargo Solutions, based in Cape Town, recently demonstrated this precision by successfully delivering an Optimum XL40 in a high-priority collaboration with their French network partner, Tepmare SAS.

Seamless EXW Coordination

This complex Ex Works (EXW) shipment required meticulous planning at the source. Tepmare SAS took the lead on all origin transport requirements in France, ensuring the oversized machinery was expertly handled and secured before its departure from the Port of Le Havre.

To accommodate the significant dimensions of the Optimum XL40, the teams utilized a 40ft Flat Rack. The "Out of Gauge" (OOG) move was essential to manage the unit's impressive scale, which totaled a volume of over 66 cubic meters.

Supporting the South African Harvest

In South Africa, the window for a successful harvest is narrow. The arrival of this equipment was time-sensitive to ensure local operations remained on schedule for the January start.

Key Shipment Details:

  • Cargo: Optimum XL40
  • Configuration: 40ft Flat Rack (Out of Gauge)
  • Route: Le Havre, France to Cape Town, South Africa
  • Partnership: VDM Cargo Solutions (RSA) & Tepmare SAS (France)

By combining local expertise in Cape Town with Tepmare’s robust origin handling in France, VDM Cargo Solutions continues to prove that global partnerships are the backbone of successful, time-critical supply chains.
